Eye Exercises for Improved Vision
Eye exercises are a natural way to improve your vision and maintain healthy eyes. They can help strengthen your eye muscles and reduce eye strain caused by prolonged screen time or reading.
One effective exercise is called the palming technique. Sit comfortably with your elbows on a table and your hands covering your eyes. Close your eyes and cup your hands to create darkness. Relax and breathe deeply while visualizing a peaceful scene. This exercise helps to relax your eyes and relieve tension.
Another exercise is called the near/far focus. Hold your thumb about 10 inches away from your face and focus on it. Then, shift your focus to an object in the distance, such as a tree or a building. Repeat this exercise several times to improve your eye's ability to switch focus easily.
The figure-eight exercise is also beneficial for eye muscles. Visualize a figure-eight about 10 feet away from you. Trace the figure-eight shape with your eyes, both clockwise and counterclockwise. This exercise helps to improve eye coordination and strengthen eye muscles.
Remember to take regular breaks when working on a computer or reading for an extended period. Look away from the screen or the book every 20 minutes and focus on an object in the distance for about 20 seconds.
